In this time and age when the human race could use a little more kindness, some people are still carrying out cruel deeds.

News on Chinese media have reported that a man from Shaanxi province, China was arrested after he tried to bury his paralysed mother alive in an empty grave.

On 2 May, the man identified as Ma, dragged his 79-year-old paralysed mother from her bed and place her into a trolly at night. He then brought her to a nearby forest and threw his mother into an empty grave and abandoned her inside.

Six hours later, he returned home at 2am when his family members noticed him and asked him where his mother was. Ma lied and said that he had placed his mother on a bus to visit some relatives in Qingyang city.

Growing suspicious, the family went together to the bus stop to investigate his claims, but by 4am, Ma left the group and disappeared, reported Shanghaiist.

Three days later on 5 May, Ma was caught by the police who interrogated him. He then confessed that he had pushed his mother into the forest and discarded her in an empty grave there.

The police went to the forest and found the elderly woman still alive after hearing faint sounds coming from inside. A video shows them pulling her out from a deep hole in the ground, after which she was taken to the hospital.

Fortunately, the elderly woman survived the ordeal and is not in any life-threatening danger.

How could anyone be so cruel to abandon his own paralysed mother in an empty grave? Hope he gets the punishment he deserves.
