Chief of Police, Inspector-General, Abdul Hamid Bador announced that more roadblocks will be set up following the government’s decision to extend the CMCO to 6 December in all states excluding Pahang, Perlis, and Kelantan.

Chief Abdul Hamid added that inspections during these roadblocks will be conducted more intensively, especially in areas located between the entry points of states and districts placed under the CMCO. According to authorities, this measure had to be taken to ensure citizens don’t go out unnecessarily.

“I urge all members of the public to give the police your full cooperation and abide by the SOPs in the next four weeks. Don’t go out for unnecessary reasons,” he said in a statement recorded by Sin Chew Daily.

The Inspector-General added that authorities will be more effective in monitoring the current CMCO due to their experience from handling the previous Movement Control Orders. However, he also expressed his hopes that people will not be angry at the police when they encounter these authorities at the designated roadblocks that may cause traffic congestion as these measures are only implemented to curb the spread of the virus.

Yesterday (9 November) Malaysia recorded 852 new positive Covid-19 cases.

It doesn’t look like the Covid-19 situation is going to be under control anytime soon so let’s try our best to stay at home and curb the spread of the virus as much as possible!
