Sometimes a good pick-me-up for when you’re feeling blue is to actually look at something bright and sunny. For example, this art installation that Twitter user, Hazmi, chanced upon!
In Hazmi’s tweet, we see curtains of yellow in between the escalators at the Pasar Seni station.
The Twitter user elaborated in another tweet that he wishes to see more art installations at different MRT/LRT stations.

As the initial tweet has gone slightly viral, MRT actually replied to Hazmi and said that this art installation is by a local artist named Pamela Tan of Pohsin Studio.
According to Pamela Tan on Instagram, she said that the name of this art installation is Sunnyside Up. How apt!
“To brighten up daily commuters as they explore the city or head off to work, while greeting those on their journey home after a hard day’s toil, adding a small and joyful gesture towards KLites daily lives.”
This installation is also a part of the Arts On The Move programme held by Think City along with MRT Corp and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), supported by Yayasan Sime Darby and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC).
This programme will start on 14 February and the installation will be up until the first weekend of April.
Well, we hope that more of these programs will take place nationwide so that our local artists will have more exposure.
Will you be visiting the installation? Let us know in the comments.
