For the past two months, thieves have been running rampant in Subang and the locals are tired of it. Among the items stolen were shoes, flower pots, even car batteries, and recently, the thieves have shifted their focus to car tyres. Following the residents’ complaints on social media, Sinchew reporters went around USJ and discovered that the issue was actually worse than they thought.
For instance, two cars just had their tyres stolen very recently, with the first case happening within a gated and guarded area in USJ 11/3. The Perodua Bezza lost two tyres and the cost to replace both tyres and sport rims was estimated at RM2,000.
Meanwhile, the other case happened at a vacant lot beside USJ 7 LRT station. The thieves’ modus operandi included using a rock to jack up the car so that the tyres can be easily taken out. When the owner came back for his car, all four tyres were already gone.
The reporters also found out that the vacant land beside the LRT station is actually a private property, which is why no security guard was hired to safeguard the place. This has made the thieves’ job so much easier.
Members of the public are urged to not park their vehicles at secluded areas for obvious reasons and to report to the authorities at once if they spot any suspicious individual lurking around the residential area.
If you know someone who always parks in that vicinity, share this article with them! Stay safe guys!
