It was recently announced that nightclubs would be able to reopen starting 15 May (Sunday).
The National Security Council (MKN) has since released the SOPs in which nightclub operators and patrons must adhere to, which takes effect starting 14 May (Saturday).
Here are the SOPs for nightclub operators and patrons:
- Nightclubs are allowed to operate within the business hours as according to the terms of their licenses and permits.
- Nightclubs are allowed to operate at 100% capacity within the premises, including the dance floor.
Inspections and registrations at entry:
- All workers and patrons must register via MySejahtera and activate the MySJ Trace feature.
- Only workers and patrons with ‘Low Risk’ statuses on their MySejahtera accounts are allowed to enter.
- Individuals under Home Surveillance Order (HSO) are not allowed to enter.
- Patrons must wear masks unless when eating, drinking or dancing.
Operational compliance control:
- Disinfection activities must be carried out if a case or cluster is discovered.
Covid-19 tests:
- Patrons must undergo RTK-Ag Covid-19 self-tests within 24 hours before entering the premises, or nightclub operators can carry out RTK-Ag Covid-19 self-tests on patrons before entry.
- Nightclub operators are responsible in ensuring that the results of patrons’ tests are up to date and negative.
Ventilation:
- Nightclub operators must ensure that their premises have proper functioning ventilation systems.
