Some more unfortunate news has surfaced recently!
Earlier this week, an 11 year-old boy shocked the nation after both of his legs had to be amputated due to an infection suspected to be brought on by physical abuse from an assistant warden at his school.
The news horrified and angered Malaysians as they found out that the boy, who went to a private religious school in Kota Tinggi, Johor, suffered severe blue-black injuries, blood clots and a bacterial infection which was suspected to be brought on from being beaten by a water hose.
In a report by The Star, the pupil was said to have written about the harrowing abuse he faced in the school. In one of his entries, the boy wrote,
“Dear Allah, please open my parents’ hearts to allow me to transfer to another school because I cannot stand it anymore. Please, Allah, make my wishes come true.”
Sadly, it appears the poor boy’s condition has taken a turn for the worse, as doctors have found out that the blood clots and infection spread to his right shoulder and arm.
Treatment was given in hopes of stopping the infection from spreading. However, from the looks of things, doctors have said that the boy wasn’t responding well to the treatment and may have his right arm amputated from below the elbow.
According to Harian Metro, the Johor Permaisuri, Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah urges the school to take swift action by giving medical checkups to all the students who were beaten in order to avoid this from happening to other innocent children.
Currently, the assistant warden who allegedly abused the young student is in police custody.
We hope justice will be served and that no other innocent children will have to experience what this poor boy is going through right now!
