In times of need, it is good to see Malaysians helping out one another despite any differences we may have in the past.
Wanting to lend a hand to locals affected by the recent flash floods, Masjid Tunku Ampuan Jemaah Bukit Jelutong says that it is opening its doors to all affected by the flood, even to non-Muslims.
“We saw people coming in from the nearby Shah Alam toll that was submerged with water.”
“When we realised that there was a huge number of people stranded, we made the decision to spread the word via WhatsApp that anyone who wished to sought shelter, Muslims and non-Muslims alike are welcome to the mosque.”
Currently, more than 200 people are seeking shelter at the mosque, with members of the mosque providing nourishments to flood victims visiting the mosque.
Let’s hope that those who are stranded due to the floods will be able to seek shelter at various locations now open to the public.
