While presenting Budget 2026 in Parliament today (10 October), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the Government has allocated RM13 billion this year for the Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) and the Rahmah Basic Contribution (SARA).
He explained that the allocations for STR and SARA will benefit nearly nine million recipients. To date, payments for STR up to Phase 3 have been made, amounting to RM6 billion.
50% toll discount announced in conjunction with Deepavali celebrations
In conjunction with Deepavali celebrations, the Government is pleased to announce that the Phase 4 STR 2025 payment, initially scheduled for November and valued at RM2 billion, will be brought forward and distributed starting 18 October.
Additionally, the Government has approved a 50% toll discount for two days in celebration of the Deepavali holiday.
