A helicopter making an emergency landing crashed at Bentong, Pahang today (February 6).
The matter was confirmed by Bentong district Chief Police, Superintendant Zaihar Mohd Kahar, who said PDRM will be releasing a statement at its soonest, reported Astro Awani.
The crash involving a Bell 206L4 helicopter happened at Batu 8, Jalan Lama Kuala Lumpur – Bentong around 10:30 AM.
In another report by the New Straits Times, the crash killed a helicopter engineer on the ground after the helicopter’s rotor blade struck his head when the vehicle crash-landed on its side. The helicopter pilot is said to have wanted to land to refuel.
The deceased was an Indonesian and the helicopter pilot, who is also an Indonesian survived without any injuries, as confirmed by the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department acting director, Tok Muda Wan Ahmad Fadillah Wan Abdul Rahman.
At the time of writing, the blaze has been extinguished by the firefighters.
