The MRT Putrajaya line has been operational for almost a month now, giving residents in Putrajaya and nearby cities the convenience of commuting via the brand-new train service.
However, despite the new facilities, it seems that the recently opened MRT stations are suffering the same problem as older ones in our country: People are illegally parking their cars by the roadside of the stations.
In fact, the situation was so dire in Putrajaya line’s MRT Cyberjaya City Centre MRT station recently that MRT feeder buses became stuck because commuters are illegally parking their vehicles on BOTH sides of the road.
Twitter account @Twt_Cyberjaya yesterday shared a video and several photos of an MRT feeder bus being stuck at the aforementioned station due to selfish road users.
In the video, believed to be recorded by a passenger of the MRT feeder bus, you can hear a man lambasting the vehicle owners for their selfish acts. The man asserted,
“Brainless! These are not parking spots. We’re stuck, the bus can’t even move. If it were up to me, I’d ask the bus to just run over these vehicles!
“We all want to go home but we have to wait because the bus is stuck. Stupid, brainless.”
While the man is talking, you can clearly see that the bus can’t fit through the narrow opening due to a Toyota Hilux and a Perodua Myvi parking on each side of the road. Furthermore, you can also see another MRT feeder bus at the back being affected by the situation, essentially delaying the schedule of the buses for residents of the area.
The video then showed the incident from a different, much further angle that sees the whole stretch of road being filled with illegally parked vehicles on both sides of the road.
