It’s sad how most people are judgmental, especially towards the homeless. Well, a recent post by Vilma from the Philippines absolutely broke the hearts of many netizens. He had shared how he personally witnessed a beggar being restricted from entering a fast food restaurant. Worse, that man had a disability!
He writes,
“I feel sad for this guy who just wants to get himself a decent breakfast from McDonalds (Mc Arthur corner Field’s ave.) The guard won’t let him in seeing that he is a beggar with a disability.”
The beggar desperately pointed at the counter, trying to explain how he wasn’t here to beg for change, but only wanted to order some food for himself. However, even after doing so, the guard would not let him in.
Vilma continues observing the depressing scene, saying,
“The guard even tried to mock him with his hand gestures that says he’s an addict. The man finally gave up and left.
“I tried to approach the guy to help him get some food inside but he already crossed the street. I went after him but I had to do a U-turn. By the time I got near, he went inside Jollibee, and I observed…”
To his surprise, the staff at Jollibee, a fast food chain loved by the people of Philippines were ‘more than welcoming’. Not only did they not shoo him away from the restaurant, they also helped him out with his order.
“They even help the guy to count his money in loose change. I just feel this is worth sharing ❤” he writes.
