In a video which has recently gone viral, a woman expressed her frustrations over a couple of concrete blocks which were placed on a public road in Kajang which she says disrupted the flow of traffic in and around the area.
She explained that after she had gotten into contact with the city council, they had informed her that the concrete blocks were actually put up by residents of a neighbouring kampung and not residents of the apartment which is next to the road.
“They told me that it’s because their pets such as cats and chickens always end up dead because of cars on the road. Those are your pets so you should take care of them. This has become an inconvenience to others because this is the main route for people to go to Bangi for work.”
MP is looking into it
The video has since gone viral and captured the attention of Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan who has taken to social media to share what is being done on the matter.
In a tweet, Syahredzan stated that a lot of people had tagged him in the video which has gone viral on Twitter.
“Firstly, I have shared my comment on FB a few days ago. Take note: I was informed that MPKj allowed the road to be closed for certain reasons.”
In the Facebook comment, Syahredzan said that as an MP, he actually has no power over the matter and that he can merely suggest what to do to the city council.
He also said that Mazwan Johar who is the DUN of Sungai Ramal is currently accepting all views on the matter.
“Talks are ongoing with all the respective parties and a few suggestions have been made. Personally, I have suggested to the city council to stop blocking the road with concrete blocks and use gates instead which could be easily removed in case of emergencies.”
Syahredzan also shared a post by Mazwan which essentially stated that discussion between all parties have been organised and that the Kajang city council is requested to respond before or on January 15 2023.
“I received a letter from the Residents Association with their recommendations on Tuesday this week. After January 15, I will check again with Mazwan about MPKj’s response and further action,” he added.
In conclusion, he urged all those who are affected to remain patient and that the solution will take time.
We hope that the matter is resolved soon. What do you think of the whole issue? Let us know in the comments.
