If you have drank or partied before, you would know that the line between having just enough to drink to have a good time and drinking so much that you feel like death is a fine one.

When that line is crossed, people do things that are against their better judgment and that is how a fun night out can turn disastrous.

That is one of the reasons why it is not uncommon to hear of fights taking place near nightclubs and bars.

Recently, the police arrested 3 local men suspected of seriously injuring an Australian man in a fight that happened at the F&B and entertainment centre, TREC KL.

Wangsa Maju District Police Chief, Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah, said the District Criminal Investigation Division, Wangsa Maju District Police Headquarters (IPD) received a report of the fight at 4.54am last Friday.

He said the initial investigation found that the fight involved a group of 5-6 local men and foreigners while the victim was an Australian man.

“The victim was beaten up by the group and one of the suspects used what is believed to be a sharp weapon, causing injury to the victim,” he said in a statement this afternoon.

According to a video shared on the Facebook page, Inforoadblock, the victim was wearing a black T-shirt that appeared to have been ripped apart and his back was bloody.

Ashari also said that the victim who was injured in the neck, body and palm was then rushed to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), and is now in stable condition.

“So far, we have arrested three suspects aged 20 to 30 and remanded them for four days from Saturday to Tuesday to assist in the investigation according to Section 148 of the Penal Code,” he said.

He said his party is tracking other suspects who are still at large.

“Anyone with information related to the case can contact the IPD Wangsa Maju Control Center at 03-92899222,” he said.
