Human beings are emotional creatures and as much as we would like to give anyone who crosses us a piece of our mind, there will be consequences if we act out of line.

On Monday (September 12), police arrested a pair of husband and wife for getting into a fight with two men after being involved in an accident on Jalan Semarak, Kuching at 5.20pm.

The 29-year-old suspects were arrested four hours after the incident.

Acting Kuching District Police Chief Superintendent L. Merbin said the police received a report from the victims, two local men who were riding motorcycles at the time of the incident.

He said the fight was believed to have been caused by a misunderstanding between the suspect and the complainant.

In the videos shared on social media by nearby road users, the woman was seen aggressively telling off the victims in the middle of the road while her husband stayed in their car.

When one of the victims slapped his hand down on the car hood, the suspect in the car got riled up and accelerated his car, knocking down the victim’s motorcycle.

Even when the suspects were driving away in their car, they appeared to intentionally drive into the suspect’s motorcycle just to knock it down.

“The complainant suffered minor injuries as a result of being slapped by the suspect,” said Merbin.

He also explained that the result of the review found that the male suspect has seven past records involving crime and drugs.

The female suspect has three criminal and drug records.

“The suspects are currently being remanded until Saturday and the case is being investigated under Section 427 and Section 323 of the Penal Code,” he said.

Accordingly, the police advised the public not to take action by stopping in the middle of the road as it could endanger themselves and other road users.
