The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) has announced that they will be charging several suspects involved in the bullying incident of Form 1 student, Zara Qairina Mahathir, in Sabah.
Taking to their Facebook page to release a statement, the AGC shared that their decision is based on evidence found in the investigation papers into the girl’s death from the police.

They wrote, “The Attorney General’s Chambers has examined the investigation papers into the death of Zara Qairina referred to by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and has decided to charge several suspects involved in the bullying of Zara Qairina based on the available evidence.”
They added that this decision will not get in the way of the other proceedings in this case.
“The decision to charge the suspects with the bullying offence was made as the charge would not interfere with the ongoing inquest process.”
“The department stressed that although the decision to charge the suspects with bullying offences has been made, the decision will not affect the ongoing investigation by PDRM into the death of Zara Qairina, including the inquest proceedings that will be conducted in court,” they explained.
