Two armed criminals, believed to have been involved in more than 70 robberies in three states, were shot dead by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in an underground parking area of a condominium building in Bandar Baru Nilai at about 10pm on Thursday (May 15).
According to a report by Sinar Harian, the 2 suspects, who were driving a Toyota Vios, were chased around Nilai after they refused to stop for police when they were spotted acting suspiciously.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director (intelligence and operations) Datuk Fadil Marsus shared that police officers exchanged fire with the suspects, local men aged 29 and 40, before they were shot dead.

“We have successfully intercepted another robbery group that is actively robbing houses, factories, and J&T parcel collection points around Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Perak,”
“The 40-year-old suspect was found to have 76 criminal records involving violence and drugs, while another suspect has 11 records,” he said.
The police also found 2 firearms, a semi-automatic pistol and a revolver, believed to have been used by the suspects.
Police vehicles were damaged by gunfire, but no officers were injured in the incident.
It is believed that the suspects stayed at the condominium.Ā

“The suspects are said to have rented a condominium unit there and used it as a stopover location, and many other locations have been used as accommodation. In addition, the license plate number of the silver Toyota Vios used by the suspect is also believed to have been changed,” he added.
His department is not ruling out the possibility that the suspects were involved in a secret society and drug trafficking activities, based on the firearms used.
Believing that the suspects who were shot dead were among the leaders of a group, his department will continue with an operation to hunt down other suspects.
