After the whole fiasco of several people receiving empty vaccines, Minister of Science Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Khairy Jamaluddin announced that video recording is allowed during the vaccination process.
“Go ahead, film yourselves and take a video of your vaccination so that you have hard proof and that we also have hard proof that you have received a proper dosage for your vaccination,” he said.
However, another case of a nurse not injecting the vaccine into the recipient was caught on video, this time at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL).
@diyanahmaria shared her experience on Instagram, saying she thought that this situation would never happen to her. She had gone to WTCKL at about 9.30am on 28 July for her AstraZeneca vaccination appointment and decided to record the process.
The video she posted shows the medical staff pushing the syringe that contained the vaccine into her arm but pulled it out before injecting the vaccine.
Medical staff said she didn’t notice
@diyanahmaria said she reported it to the officer and showed the video as proof, to which the staff who injected her said she didn’t notice.
“I am so damn mad and anxious at that time,” she said.
She added that they eventually gave her another jab.
“I can’t believe that there are people that still think only for their self-interest. For the sake of other people’s safety, please la, you are risking other people’s life.”
In her Instagram stories, @diyanahmaria advised others to record their vaccination process so that they have solid proof just in case something like this were to happen.
“Hopefully, this thing doesn’t happen again,” she said.
She also said in her post that she isn’t sure what the medical officer’s true intention was, but added that she will report this case to the authorities.
