It’s quite common for Westerners to confuse Malaysia for Singapore and vice versa, like that time a Canadian travel influencer claimed that Singapore was a “city in Malaysia”.
This time round, an American man claimed that Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
In a Facebook post, he posted a magnificent photo of Marina Bay Sands lit up in red and captioned the post “Downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee ?? It’s Beautiful ?”.
The post has since gone viral with over 13,000 shares, 12,000 likes and 14,000 comments, most of which come from witty netizens, presumably Singaporeans, who decided that they would bombard the post with hilarious memes of their own.
It is uncertain if the Facebook user had ignorantly posted the photo not knowing that Marina Bay Sands is actually located in Singapore or if he posted it as a joke. Whichever it is, his post is certainly getting lots of attention.
As we speak, netizens are still filling up the comment section with jokes of their own.
