A Malaysian-based UK food vlogger, Ryhs William recently received an “exceptional” comment from a Malaysian social media user.

The netizen suspected Rhys of having a motive for his presence here, 11 years after the food vlogger found a home in Malaysia.

“Imagine this. He could be a spy from his country (UK) but he’s keeping it cool by mingling with the locals to get information.”

Rhys shared the screenshot via his Instagram story @si_rhys recently, and simply remarked with an “Alamak”.

In a conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Rhys said that he received a lot of criticism in the past, especially when he spoke of controversial matters.

“I’ve learnt to avoid controversies. I tend to just move on and focus on the positive sides of things.”

As for the spy allegations, Rhys said he did not respond to the comments.

“This comment stood out to me because it was just funny to be accused like that, it actually made me laugh.”

As a content creator who has been in the game for more than 10 years, Rhys said he has learned to expect negative comments and accepted that doubts and criticisms are just “part of the package,” and one just needs to learn how to cope with negativity online.

“I think being a content creator, you have to have thick skin, and also not get so caught up in the negative comments.”

Rhys also told WORLD OF BUZZ that 99.9% of the feedback he has been receiving is positive, and he’s not too concerned about the negativity, which happens once in a while. As for the haters, Rhys said he believed that their words were merely a reflection of themselves.

“They usually reflect their own negative beliefs or insecurities when they comment. So, it’s better to just move on and hope for the best for them.”

When asked about his family members who are in the UK, Rhys, who speaks fluent Bahasa Melayu, told WORLD OF BUZZ that his family currently has no plans to reside here for good.

“But I’m still trying to convince them to live here,” he said.
