A letter to a woman’s father recently came to light after she revealed her long-suppressed feelings about her stepmother, alleging that both she and her younger sister had endured abuse at her hands.
In the emotional letter, dated 9 January, Wong Qiu Yeu pleaded with her father to do what was right for his children. Tragically, just nine days later, she passed away at the age of 21 after a battle with bone cancer.

Following this, Qiu Yeu’s younger sister, Qiu Qiu, has broken her silence, sharing several videos and photos from her late sister’s phone while going through her belongings.
She said she decided to make the footage public to support what was written in her sister’s letters, and not as “baseless accusations.”
“These recordings show my sister’s real-life circumstances at the time. Some were taken by her, and were sent to trusted elders as evidence.
“I’ve chosen to share these materials publicly, not for sensationalism or as an emotional outlet, but to show that every experience described in my sister’s letters is based on real events and concrete incidents,” she wrote.

She explained that while Qiu Yeu was still alive, they received what she described as a “warning letter,” allegedly written by their stepmother, that was also mentioned in Qiu Yeu’s letter to their father.
“This was a warning letter written by our stepmother, explicitly telling us that we were not allowed to use the toilet,” she said.

“No child has to go through the same kind of treatment while dealing with illness”
Qiu Qiu went on to describe one of the videos, which shows the stepmother prying open their bedroom door and entering the room while they weren’t at home.

“The second video, recorded around 6 AM, shows our stepmother and father at home taking away all the kitchen utensils, dishes, and the gas cylinder.
“As for the third video, it shows our stepmother throwing all the breakfast my sister had prepared onto the floor. My sister secretly recorded it and sent it to our aunt who was living in Kuala Lumpur, which later sparked a conflict at home,” Qiu Qiu said.

She also explained that her father appeared visibly upset and pointed his finger at her late sister, as seen in another photo that was shared.
“After our aunt and her daughter scolded and warned our father over the phone, he could be seen visibly expressing his displeasure, pointing his finger at my sister,” she said.

Qiu Qiu emphasised that the materials shared are just the tip of the iceberg, saying they clearly show that the “coldness, torment, and helplessness” her late sister described in her letters were not exaggerations.
“We decided to make these materials public so the facts are seen, the truth can’t be easily denied, and no child has to go through the same kind of treatment while dealing with illness in their family. We hope everyone looks at this calmly and forms their own judgment.”
WORLD OF BUZZ has reached out to Qiu Qiu for comment but has yet to receive a response.
