Most of us are hit with a familiar wave of nostalgia when we hear others mention Digimon (Only the 90’s babies will know). If you were a real fan, you were definitely rocking Digimon pasar malam pajamas or showing off your Digimon school bag to your classmates.
Well, it looks like the treasured animated series won’t have to remain a childhood memory much longer as it makes a return to cinemas next year!
Digimon Adventure’s Ultimate Evolution Trip will reportedly be set in 2010, showcasing a grown up cast alongside the OG Digimon crew that accompanied them in childhood adventures.
According to Sin Chew Daily, this will be the final time Tai and the original DigiDestined take the screen alongside each other, as revealed in the trailer that was released a few days ago on Twitter.

The trailer went viral online after netizens heartstrings were pulled by the emotional return of their favourite nostalgic characters. The short clip was particularly heartwarming for fans as it included a song from late singer, Wada Kouji, who used to sing Digimon’s theme song and epilogue. There’s even a scene in the short teaser that shows Agumon looking at Tai’s tall back and saying “Tai, you’re all grown up!”
After making its debut in 1999, many were disappointed when the super-popular animation came to an abrupt end in 2000. Hence, why fans can’t wait for their childhood characters to come back to the big screen in 2020!
