It’s no secret that the rental market in Malaysia has gotten insanely expensive. It’s come to a point where people have to live in tiny rooms with partitioned plywood walls for the sake of affordable rent.
But, in order to save money, would you live in a room with no walls at all? Well, technically, there are walls but there’s still zero privacy.
Content creator, Mat Dan, took to his Facebook page to showcase how a Malaysian landlord is renting out A BED IN THEIR LIVING ROOM for RM170.
Mat Dan humorously wrote, “Is anyone looking for a place to stay? There’s space here.”
In his post, he showcased a conversation with the landlord who specified that the bed was in the living room, considering the image shown did not clarify where the bed was.
“Single room? Where?” he asked, to which the landlord replied,
“This isn’t a room. It’s in the living room. There’s one single bed.”
Considering the obvious lack of privacy that comes with the arrangement, Malaysians shared their opinions on the bed in the living room.
“I wouldn’t, I always sleep in only my underwear. It’s will be embarrassing if people see.”
“Whoever rents this, just sleep naked. Only then will it serve the landlord right.”
“People will pass by just as you’re trying to flirt with a girl. It’ll spoil the programme.”
“Actually, the landlord should be paying the renter, if they have to sleep in the living room. That can be counted as a salary for the renter to be a security guard.”
