The room rental market in Malaysia has gotten rather expensive over the years, despite the rooms being small and cramped. And this appears to also be happening in Singapore.

A Singaporean homeowner is now under fire for pricing a room unreasonably high despite it lacking a bed and other aspects.

According to a report by China Press, people are sharing their concerns over the room for rent in Singapore that is going for SGD750 (RM2,636.53), as the room has no bed or air-conditioning.

As shown in a photo, the room only has a fan and a bench to act as a bed, making netizens to compare it to a Chinese medicine clinic. They also believe the room is way too expensive over the lack of amenities.

Additionally, many also found it weird that the male homeowner is only open to renting to Chinese females, making them feel uncomfortable over safety issues.

The homeowner, who can be seen in the reflection in the glass cabinet, was shirtless when he took the picture. Due to this, many questioned the homeowner’s intentions, especially considering he is only allowing women to move in.

The homeowner might want to reconsider his pricing or perhaps furnishing the room so that it is worthy of the price. And maybe he should also open it up to men as well.

Would you pay RM2,600 to stay in a room like this? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
