The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin bin Husain in a press conference today revealed a shocking revelation, whereby the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) had arrested an Israeli national at a hotel in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (27 March) in possession of 6 firearms and approximately 200 bullets.

Razarudin asserted that the man, a 36-year-old Israeli national was arrested by a PDRM squad from the Bukit Aman Crime Investigation Department (JSJ).

During the operation, the suspect was in possession of 2 passports, one Israeli, and the other French, the latter of which was used to enter Malaysia via the United Arab Emirates on 12 March.

Further checks found that the suspect was in possession of 6 firearms, including SIG Sauer, Smith and Wesson, as well as Glock inside a bag with around 200 bullets. 3 out of the 6 firearms were loaded.

Initial investigation revealed that the man claimed to have entered Malaysia to kill another Israeli national due to family problems, though the IGP doubted that this was the true motive.

The investigation further revealed that the suspect purchased the 6 firearms while in Malaysia, all of which were believed to be ordered while here, using cryptocurrency.

PDRM believes that the man wasn’t running the murder scheme alone and is now tracking down his associates.

The police also believe that the suspect has a separate motive to come to Malaysia, with the police suspecting that he is a member of the Israel intelligence agency.

Razarudin asserted that the Israeli national is remanded for 4 days from yesterday until 31 March, with the case being investigated under Section 12 of the Passport Act 1966 and Section 7 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.

Kudos to PDRM for the quick action to arrest the suspect and we hope that the Israeli national’s associates and those involved in the crime are also apprehended soon!
