Moments of racial harmony in Malaysia are not novel in any way, shape, or form. Despite this, it doesn’t make such moments any less heart-warming or touching whenever we come across it. One of these instances was recently depicted by one Malay mother, who showed just how close her young daughter is with her neighbour, who is of Indian descent.

Sharing a clip of this interaction to her TikTok page @araavaniella_, Syahira showed how her 2-year-old baby, Adelia Raisya, wouldn’t leave the side of their neighbour, whose name is Thiba. In the video, Syahira sat in the passenger seat of her car with the door open, as Thiba stood there with Adelia in her arms. Telling her child that it was time to go, Adelia put up a fuss and refused to go with her mother.

At one point, Syahira grabbed Adelia and placed her on her lap, before Adelia whined in protest over this movement. After reaching towards her, Adelia then happily returned to Thiba, whom she lovingly calls Patti.

Making light of the situation, Thiba then asked Adelia to wave goodbye to Syahira, which she playfully did. Shortly after that, Thiba also told Adelia to give her mother a flying kiss while speaking to her in Tamil, which the child understood and did so willingly before the video ended.

In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Syahira revealed that Adelia has been under the care of Thiba since she was 3 months old, as they have been long-time neighbours and have a good relationship.

“I currently work in Singapore, but before that, I was transferred to Perak for a short while. We couldn’t find any suitable nanny to take care of Adelia, and I was tired, because I had once sent her to the wrong caretaker accidentally,” said Syahira to WORLD OF BUZZ.

Continuing on, Syahira stated that Adelia is now cared for by Thiba and her family occasionally, as her father will make the time to look after her in between then as well.

“For 1 month, she’ll stay with her father, and then a month or 2 months after that, with Aunty Thiba”, added Syahira.

Warming hearts across the platform, many people were in awe over how comfortable Adelia is with her Patti, and that she really has a deep affection for her despite the fact that they aren’t blood relatives.

“This is the correct way to live as Malaysians. We are all one family, we are just of different races,” wrote one user.

Others also expressed how cute it was to see Adelia understand Tamil when Thiba asked her to give Syahira a flying kiss. Using this, a few mentioned how she will automatically know more languages once she gets older, thanks to Thiba.

“Soon, Adelia will know how to speak Tamil! It would be so cute and rare since plenty of people mostly speak Mandarin as a third language,” penned another user.
