In an attempt to seek shelter with his wife in Thailand, a Malaysian businessman was apprehended at Don Mueang Airport around 10pm on Sunday (February 5).

His arrival was anticipated by the Thai Police, who were informed about it by the Malaysian authorities. His involvement in the murder of a 24-year-old Malaysian Chinese employee at Route66 Club in Johor Bahru, Malaysia sealed his fate, which he also admitted during an interrogation with the Thai police, according to Thaiger.

From theft to tragedy

A theft dispute started between the 31-year-old suspect and the victim, who was murdered after the businessman assaulted him. It all started with an alleged theft of 300,00 baht (approximately RM40,000) by the employee, who was said to have used the stolen money for online gambling.

After realising his missing money, he asked his men to locate the employee, who was later found gambling online. 3 of his muscular security guards then brought him in for questioning and it didn’t take long for things to escalate badly.

“He confessed to assaulting the victim with a bottle while under the influence of alcohol,” Thai police said.

The hit on the head led to the death of the victim.

The interrogation was done in full Thai language. As of now, Thai police are working with Malaysian authorities to extradite the suspect to Malaysia for legal proceedings.

“He expressed his willingness to return to Malaysia to face the charges,” reported BNN Breaking.

We hope the suspect will be tried accordingly.
