Youtube’s FS Channel recently visited an elderly man selling morsels at a village in Johor with the modus operandi of tasting their food, listening to their story and buying their sale of the day to be given to anyone who visits the owner’s stall.
Bless their kind hearts.
In one episode, FS Channel caught wind of a Pakcik selling hot Jemput-jemput almost every day in Kluang, Johor.
Making their way to his stall on Jalan Kampung Melayu, Kampung Melayu, they spotted Pak Mail churning hot Jemput-jemput for his loyal patrons, and that is where this story begins.
Pushing 73-years of age, Pak Mail can be seen selling his morsels at the roadside in Kluang, Johor as part of his efforts of raising 12 kids all on his own after his wife’s passing 23 years ago.
Having listened to his story, FS Channel offered to buy all of his goods for the day, of which Pak Mail received graciously adding that he will continue to churn out more Jemput-jemputs to be given to the public.
Cool doe this Pakcik!
For those would-be foodies out there, Jemput-jemput is similar to donuts only smaller but with no holes, typically made with bananas.
But Pak Mail’s Jemput-jemput is a bit different as he makes them in a multitude of flavors namely dragon fruit, jackfruit, pineapple and corn at only RM0.10 per piece.
He sells around 2,000 pieces on a daily basis but during Ramadhan, he gives out his Jemput-jemput for free, saying that it is his way to give back to society.
Not passing a chance to sample his tasty morsels first hand, Youtubers FS Channel visited Pak Mail and bought all of his sales for the day!
His video, which has garnered more than 119k likes and 10k comments, has seen netizens reminiscing their memories at Pak Mail’s stall and Jemput-jemput once his video went viral.
One netizen writes, “This Atok is really kind. Every time I visit his stall I would buy RM2 or RM3 of his Jemput-jemput. School kids who come to his stall will get his Jemput-jemput for free.”
“For those who have never tasted his morsels can taste them for free, even if at the end of it they don’t plan to buy them.”
So if you’re hungry for some Jemput-jemput, find Pak Mail’s stall here.
We sincerely hope that Pak Mail will continue to churn out his tasty Jemput-jemput and may he be blessed with prosperity!
