The video, which was filmed in a 7-Eleven store in Heathmont, east Melbourne has proven to be nothing short of controversial.

Eli Tibballs (no comment on that name) has been named as 18-year-old behind the camera. In his video, he claimed to only be trying to get a cup of Slurpee.

The video starts with Eli walking up to the desk and asking the shopkeeper why wouldn’t he let him fill up his Slurpee. It is still unclear what happened beforehand.

The shopkeeper replied;

“Don’t just throw my money, okay? This is pay money, if you pay you can do”

Eli replied saying that he’ll pay and “just get another f*cking Slurpee, bro”. He then walked to a Slurpee dispensary and is seen grabbing a cup to fill it up.

The shopkeeper is then heard screaming “GET OUT” multiple times at Eli. He also shouted some words and was pointing at the drainage below the dispensary because Eli had spilt and wasted some Slurpee.

Eli was audibly taken back by it and remarked;

“Woa.. Brother.. Take a chill pill, man. Have a bong or two.”

To which the shopkeeper replied “very rude”.  Which many comments seem to agree with, as Eli made a reference to an illicit substance. Marijuana is only legal for medical reason in Australia.

Eli and the shopkeeper continued to go at each other over the 4 minute long video.

The shopkeeper had threatened to call the police and the teen was persistent to not leave the store.

Eli asked to speak to a manager, but he got no response. He then went to the Slurpee machine again and told the shopkeeper that he’s getting another one.

This time the shopkeeper was more calm and told Eli sternly not to touch the machine and again told him to get out of this store saying that this is his store.

The both of them then went on a frankly childish “don’t touch me”, “don’t touch my stuff” squabble until the shopkeeper’s wife stepped in.

The wife said that her husband was mad because Eli kept wasting the Slurpee and spilling it, to which Eli denied and said that he was pouring it in his cup.

Then the shopkeeper and his wife began having an argument in Mandarin.

The wife then beckons to Eli and asks him to go ahead and take his Slurpee, which he tried to do only to be pushed off by the shopkeeper.

Later, the shopkeeper’s wife offers to pour a drink out for Eli herself. One can imagine that greatly angered the shopkeeper.

In fact, it pissed him off so much, he began removing every single one of the Slurpee cups from the machine! Eli eventually leaves the shop without his drink whilst the couple continue bickering.

Netizens are split as some emphatised with the shopkeeper while others sided with the teen.

“It’s just a Slurpee. Just let the teen have his Slurpee and he’ll be on his way!” one user wrote.

“The teen was obviously just fishing for video material. You can see that he was deliberately making the man even more angry. Besides, the storekeeper has rights no refuse service anyway.” another wrote.

Anyway guys what do you think? Do you side with the shopkeeper’s or Eli’s?
