A 60-year-old woman was saved by fishermen after falling off Penang bridge this morning.
At around 3.16am on 29 October 2023, the Fire and Rescue Department received a report and rushed to the scene, where they discovered the woman’s abandoned car.
According to the Penang Bridge CCTV, the woman was seen sitting on the bridge before eventually falling off of it. As reported by Sin Chew Daily, she was found and rescued approximately seven hours later by fishermen on a fishing boat.
She was brought to the beach behind the Paramount Hotel and was reported to be sitting on a deck chair with an exhausted expression.
Apparently, this is already the third case of drowning or attempted drowning at Penang Bridge this week.
