Walao, 55 years of serving Malaysians! Here’s how The Store did it!

You know their name but do you know their story too? The Store was first established in 1968 and is acknowledged by the Malaysia Book of Records since 2001 as Malaysia’s oldest and largest retail franchise!

With more than 52 branches nationwide, their range of products includes fresh produce and frozen foods in addition to daily essentials, electrical appliances, clothing, footwear, bags, house appliances, cosmetics and much more!

The Penangites among us konfem recognise their first branch in Bukit Mertajam, which opened in 1968! Since then The Store has gotten so much hype that they opened 33 branches in almost all of Malaysia’s major cities to serve Malaysians with their countless products!

Plus, The Store branches are divided into two sections which are the:

  1. Supermarket: featuring only the freshest produce including chicken, fish and other daily essentials.
  2. Department store: offers a vast range of products including clothes, electrical appliances, house essentials and many more for Malaysians of all ages!

But it doesn’t stop there; they also have the Pacific Hypermarket & Departmental Store, which carries the same concept and offers 100,000 different products to customers under their motto, ‘Jimat Setiap Hari’ (Save Every Day)!

Their Pacific segment is super special as there are only 10 branches available nationwide which are in Alor Setar in Kedah, Prai and Komtar in Penang, Taiping in Perak, Mentakab in Pahang, Batu Pahat and Kluang in Johor, Kota Bharu in Kelantan and their newest branch in Kuala Terengganu in Terengganu which is facing the East Coast sea! For sure, you’ll be excited to shop at any of these Pacific outlets!

The Store has a presence in East Malaysia too! In addition to their The Store and Pacific segments, they also have Milimewa Superstore in Sabah. With 9 Milimewa branches in the Land Below the Wind, Sabah folks can get in on The Store’s stellar service and high-quality products!
