A Malaysian man was found dead inside a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur. He is believed to have left an apology note for his family before his body was discovered by hotel staff and police.
According to a report by China Press, the 53‑year‑old man allegedly owed his friends RM100,000 and was struggling to settle the debt. He is survived by his wife and three children. Brickfields district police chief ACP Hoo Chang Hook said the body was discovered at around midnight today (31 January).

Hoo said the deceased’s son had driven his father to his workplace in Bangsar at about 1 PMyesterday (30 January). About four hours later, the son received what were believed to be his father’s final messages via text, prompting him to immediately lodge a police report.
After learning that his father had checked into a hotel somewhere in Kuala Lumpur, the son contacted the police. With the assistance of hotel staff, police entered the room and found the deceased lying on the floor near the bathroom.
The man’s death was later confirmed by medical personnel from Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. Hoo added that the deceased had a history of high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease, and regularly attended government clinics for medical check‑ups.
At the time of writing, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is investigating the case as a sudden death, as there were no signs of forced entry or external injuries.

“I can only repay what I owe you in the next life.”
In another report, it was revealed that the deceased, through his final note to his family, had made arrangements regarding the issues he faced, including providing instructions to his wife on how to repay the money owed to his friends. He also outlined plans for covering his children’s future education expenses.
The deceased encouraged his family to move forward after a period of mourning and told his wife that he could only repay her in the next life. As of publication, PDRM has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
