Taking place at the Temerloh Jaya Mosque in Pahang, a 51-year-old man was caught red-handed by kampung folk and the authorities for fishing out donations out of the donation’s box at the mosque.
The man, who was caught in the wee hours of the morning by the group, was found guilty of the act after hitting several other mosques around the Temerloh district.
Netizens commenting on the incident spoke of how hardship may have forced the man to succumb to the life of crime.
But after having understood that this was not a one-time thing, they began to pile on the hurt in the direction of the criminal.
Here are several photos that were taken at the scene of the crime shared by the Facebook page, Info Roadblock JPJ/POLIS.
Clearly a master of his trade, judging by the tools he used, netizens became less sympathetic towards the elderly and his wayward path.
“What’s wrong is wrong. For whatever reason, stealing should not be done by anyone.”
Another commented on how there was an apparent bias amongst netizens, where their responses would differ based on the age of the perp.
“If the thief was of a younger age, those who successfully capture the thief will resort to violence and verbal abuse.”
“But if the perp is old, people would always say to investigate his livelihood or not turn him to the authorities.”
For whatever the reason, lets hope that this pakcik is met with stern repercussion for his ways, to serve as a message that stealing is never ok.
