A fire destroyed a family hut in the Philippines recently and took the lives of two young souls.

The bodies of the siblings, who were only 2 and 4 years old, were charred beyond recognition, and they were found hugging each other.

The fire took place in Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental, on June 24 when the kids were home alone. According to a neighbour, they heard the kids screaming for their mother. The neighbour tried to help, but to no avail as the thick, black smoke engulfed the location, rendering help impossible.

The siblings were burned to death while they hugged each other.

The Sinacaban municipal fire investigator said the cause of the fire is still being investigated, but preliminary investigation showed the blaze was possibly caused by the gas stove that was left on. During the incident, the sibling’s mother was not in town, as per Philstar Global.

The blaze destroyed the house in just a few minutes, as the hut was made of easily flammable materials.

The mum, Jennefer, and her husband, Wilfredo, rushed home after they were told about the death of their children in the fire, according to a Facebook post by Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (One at Heart, Jessica Soho). The parents then buried the remains of their children with the help of the officials.

Jennefer and Wilfredo admitted that they did not expect the accident to happen.
