An officer from the Malaysian Prison Department has been universally criticised by Malaysians after he allegedly boasted online about how he exploited an inmate to wash his car.

The officer allegedly posted to a Facebook group a photo of an inmate washing a Perodua Axia with the caption, ‘Banduan boleh basuh buat apa basuh sendiri’ which means, ‘Inmate can wash my car for me, why should I wash it myself?’.

Screenshots of the posting as well as a photo of the poster in his officer’s uniform have since gone viral with many condemning the action. However, it seems that the posting itself has been deleted after the backlash received.
