A 38-year-old man living in northern Thailand froze to death after failing to keep warm in the 9°C weather.
Because of the cold winds coming from China, places in northern Thailand like Chiang Mai can have temperatures as low as 8°C, especially in the morning.
As a result of such harsh weather, at least three people living in northern Thailand have died recently, including a father of two.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the man only had three blankets in the house and had given all of them to one of his daughters as he thought he could tolerate the cold weather that night. His other daughter was staying with a relative at the time.
He was left with only a long-sleeved thermal shirt, but it wasn’t enough to keep him warm in the cold weather. The daughter said that later that night, she saw her father curled up and sleeping in the cold, so she placed a blanket over him.
When she got up the next morning, she wanted to wake him up, but no matter how much she shook him, he did not get up. Only when her relatives came over, they found out that he had frozen to death.
A doctor concluded that the man’s body could not adapt to the cold weather and unfortunately gave in to the cold.
Relatives said that the man does manual labour as his job. He had divorced his wife many years ago and had lived with his two daughters ever since.
The poor man! RIP!
