Some disgruntled Malaysians took to the streets with their banners to express their feelings on the current Covid-19 situation.

On 4 October, a post with several photos of white banners with red words went viral on social media platforms.

The banners seem to be about the Covid-19 situation in Malaysia and it is said that they were found in Ipoh.

One of the banners which said “317 cases, f*ck politics” was hanging from a pedestrian bridge near the Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh. However, when the police went to the area to look for the banner, it was not there. After a thorough search was carried out, the banner was found in a dustbin at a bus stop.

The other banner was found at the Stadium Perak food court and it said,

“Rakyat jaga rakyat, menteri jaga poket.”

“Citizens look out for each other, ministers look out for their pockets.”

When the police reached the food court, the banner was nowhere to be seen. They searched the surrounding places and came up with nothing.

The police personnel has said that the two spots where the banners were hung had no CCTV coverage and as of now, there are no witnesses coming forward to give more information on the case.

Do you think the person who drew and hung the banners should be punished? Let us know your thoughts.
