Three Rohingya people have been shot dead by the police at midnight on 23 December in Selayang Jaya.

It is said that the police were in the Selayang Jaya area when they discovered a Ford Fiesta being driven suspiciously.

A search of the car after that found that they had 2 Revolver-type pistols and a machete; it is suspected that they are members of the Rantau Fiesta gang who are involved in more than 50 robberies and burglaries in six states.

In just the state of Selangor, it is estimated that they have committed about 27 robberies and burglaries, which amounts to a loss of about RM1.3 million.

The most recent case was in Batang Kali on December 8, where they took 3 Rolex and 2 Hublot watches, estimated to be around RM445,000.
