On February 28, a Sri Lankan man in Iskandar Puteri, Johor was kidnapped by his girlfriend after he left the woman.
In an official statement by PDRM, the police received a report from a 42-year-old local man, who is the employer of the 26-year-old Sri Lankan man. According to the local man, the victim was taken away from his car wash store at around 9 AM on February 28.

In less than 24 hours, police arrested 4 suspects in the kidnapping
“At around 7.30 AM on March 1, two male and two female local suspects aged between 18 and 37 were arrested in Kuala Selangor.”
“None of them tested positive for drugs. However, one of them has a criminal record. 4 mobile phones and 2 cars were confiscated by PDRM,” said Kumarasan A/L Muniandy, the Chief Police of Iskandar Puteri district.

Upon investigation, police found out that the rescued victim was the boyfriend of one of the female suspects. The group of suspects planned a kidnapping after the victim left his girlfriend.
All suspects were remanded until March 7, and both male suspects were charged under Section 365 of the Penal Code read together under Section 34 of the same law at the Magistrate’s Court in Johor. Both the suspects are allowed bail of RM1,000 and RM3,500, respectively, and the court set March 27 for mention.
As for the female suspects, they were released on surety bond under Section 118 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
