The Thai authorities arrested a 24-year-old Malaysian man after he, who had overstayed his tourist visa by over 400 days, was discovered to have been blackmailing Thai women using secret sex videos he recorded of them.

According to a report by The Pattaya News, the Malaysian man would allegedly secretly record intimate videos with Thai women and threaten to leak the videos to social media and pornographic websites should they not pay him.

His arrest comes after a Thai woman reported him to the Pattaya City police after she had reportedly become one of his victims.

She allegedly met the Malaysian man on WeChat, where he apparently disguised himself as a friendly acquaintance. He later invited her to a condominium unit and recorded their intimate session without her knowledge.

He then used the video to threaten her, saying he would upload it to the internet if she didn’t pay him.

Her police report led to the discovery of countless victims

Immigration officers and local police officers arrested the Malaysian man while seizing 2 miniature hidden cameras, a flash drive, memory cards, various electronic devices and 2 mobile phones.

Upon examining the flash drive, it was found that he had recorded numerous explicit videos from 2021 to 2025, causing distress to countless Thai women. It turns out that some of his victims did pay him to prevent their videos from being uploaded, with sums ranging from a few hundred to tens of thousands of baht.

While initially refusing to cooperate, the Malaysian man eventually admitted to taking the secret videos for blackmail purposes.

He also admitted to stealing a keycard to access the condominium unit, where he does not actually stay.

The Thai authorities are now investigating whether the Malaysian man had uploaded any of the secret sex videos to the internet.
