The Kelantan police just busted a sex work ring led by a 24-year-old pimp who is also a student at a private university in Cheras, KL.
The raids which were carried out all over Kota Bharu led to the arrest of three women and the pimp who is currently in the second year of his Human Resource Management course.
Not sure if this is how you should apply your human resource knowledge though.
As reported by NST, the man was arrested at an apartment block at Lorong Minyak when he was in the middle of arranging a meet with the customers.
Assistant Superintendent Mat Zol Ismail told NST,
“During the operation, police seized an iPhone 5, apartment keys and a bag containing RM1,900 from the man.”
After the man was arrested, the police went to pick up a 36-year-old woman from Pulau Pinang who was with a customer. The other two women, aged 27 and 40, from Sarawak and Melaka, were arrested at an apartment in Jalan Post Office Lama.
Mat Zol elaborated,
“The group’s modus operandi is to offer sex services through social media app WeChat before meeting the customers at houses around Kota Bharu. Investigations revealed the three women were freelancing and moved from one state to another, offering sex services for RM300 per session.”
The illegal activity was exposed after the police did an undercover operation where they confiscated sex lubricant, condoms, three mobile phones and RM2,925 worth of cash that’s believed to be earned from the prostitution of the three women.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 12 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007.
