Just a few days back, former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir said that he’s ready to work, once again with another former PM, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. However, that will only happen if and only if both parties can reach a common ground.

Acknowledging that they have split into many parties and lost power, Tun M highlighted the importance of working together.

“We want to work together, but the end goals must be met,” he told Malaysia Now.

What Tun M wants is simple – to champion the Malay cause, and eliminate those involved in corruption and misconduct. He made it clear that those who are corrupted or who have been to prison will not be “tagging along” in his favour of unity, and stressed that Muhyiddin and he have to unite.

“The people are in need of someone who cares about their plight, and can come up with a solution to fix their issues,” Tun M explained what he thinks the voters are looking for.

“I’m ready, Tun M”

Just yesterday (June 2), Muhyiddin posted on his Instagram and responded to Tun M’s invitation, saying that he’s “locked and loaded”.

“I’m ready to work with all Malay & Islamic figures, including Tun M for the sake of the country.”

In his IG post, Muhyiddin said he’s welcoming Tun M’s invitation with open arms, and said that he is aware of how the political developments in the country have put the people at a tough crossroads.

Tun M became the 7th Prime Minister in 2018, and 2 years later, he quit before being replaced by Muhyiddin during the Covid-19 pandemic. Do you think their potential return will bring benefits to the country?
