While a mother in Indonesia was praying at home, her daughter “approached” her with deadly intention, which ultimately led to the woman’s murder.

The 18-year-old girl repeatedly hit her mother in the head with a stone mortar.

During the terrifying incident, the 49-year-old woman was performing the Zohor (noon) prayer. The 18-year-old, however, did not stop when her mother collapsed after being hit repeatedly with the stone mortar. The youth continued to stab her collapsed mother with a kitchen knife, killing the woman instantly.

After the murder, the 18-year-old walked to her neighbour and confessed to the murder.

She claimed to have been possessed during the murder, and told the neighbours to take care of her siblings.

The neighbours, who were shocked by the murder, contacted the police, who then arrested the daughter. Investigation also revealed that the 18-year-old used to receive treatment at a mental hospital, and she was just discharged last Wednesday (July 30), reported the Indonesian news and Detik Jabar.

“The victim had stab wounds in several parts of his body,” said Yuli, one of the victim’s neighbours on Saturday (August 2), at around 3:30 PM.

The perpetrator was then taken to the Bengkulu Police Headquarters to undergo further investigation. Meanwhile, the victim’s body was taken to Bhayangkara Hospital in Bengkulu City for an autopsy.
