Honestly, we still can’t think of a good reason why he needed the WiFi password at that moment. Was he going to “check in” or what?
A 17-year-old burglar recently broke into a house and woke up the occupants just to ask for their WiFi password. This mind-boggling incident happened in Palo Alto, California on 22 July.
According to The Star, the teen broke into an elderly couple’s home at 12.31am undetected. Surprisingly, he woke up the sleeping couple just to get their WiFi password because he was out of data. That’s a bold move, but not a wise one!
Needless to say, the elderly couple was scared and the husband quickly jumped out of bed to confront the teen. He pushed the burglar out of the bedroom, down the hall and out of the house before calling the cops.
The teen then stole a bicycle to make his escape but was picked up a few minutes later. Sounds like something straight out of GTA, wei!
The police department kept his name confidential as he is still a minor. Having said that, he will still be facing criminal charges for residential burglary and prowl.
The delinquent teen was also slapped with one charge of providing false information to an officer as he lied about his identity when being questioned earlier. Further investigation also revealed that he had broken into another house the night before.
If he gets imprisoned, we wonder how is he going to survive, because we doubt there’s Wi-Fi in there. Anyway, we hope he has learnt his lesson and stays away from the thug life after this!
