17yo M’sian Tragically Falls From 14th Floor of Terengganu Apartment While on Holiday with Friends

On January 17, a 17-year-old’s holiday was tragically cut short after he was found dead from falling off the 14th floor of an apartment building in Kuala Terengganu.

The victim, from Machang, Kelantan, was discovered lying on his back on the 6th floor by a cleaning staff member at the apartment around noon, as reported by Harian Metro.

The victim was supposed to check out on Saturday

Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Nor, confirmed the incident, saying the authorities received a report from the public around 12:30 PM.

The victim and his friends had just arrived in Kuala Terengganu for a holiday yesterday (January 16) and were staying in a rented unit on the 14th floor of the apartment.

The victim was supposed to check out of the apartment on Saturday (January 18).

The case has been classified as a sudden death

Azli also revealed how the said the victim’s body had been sent to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) forensic unit for an autopsy.

“We are classifying this as a sudden death (SDR), and further investigations are ongoing. We have contacted the victim’s family for the funeral arrangements,” he said.
