Woman Accidentally Kills Her 1yo Baby With a Machete During Heated Argument With Husband

A 1-year-old baby tragically lost their life after the mom accidentally killed the child during a heated argument with her husband in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Sinar Harian reported that Kupang’s Head of Criminal Investigation, AKP Yeni Setiono, said the incident happened in Desa Soba last Tuesday (January 14).

She accidentally struck her baby with a machete

The baby, who’s only a year and seven months old, tragically lost their life after the mom accidentally struck her child with a machete, leaving the child with injuries.

Yeni Setiono revealed how the incident started when the suspect, Deningsi Bano Beti, became involved in a heated argument with her husband, that quickly spiralled out of control.

“According to the suspect, the incident started when she got into an argument with her husband, Kornalius Marion Bano,” Yeni Setiono explained.

She intended to use the machete on her husband

The argument got worse when the 27-year-old suspect allegedly wanted to use the machete to hurt her husband, but instead, the machete accidentally hit the child she was holding.

“The argument escalated when the suspect grabbed a machete, planning to hurt her husband, but ended up striking the child she was holding, causing serious injuries,” Yeni Setiono added.

He also mentioned that the baby was rushed to the hospital but couldn’t be saved.

“The suspect has been arrested, and we’re carrying out a full investigation,” he added.
