The Shah Alam District Police today addressed a recent viral video circulating on social media, showing dashcam footage of a motorcyclist getting run over by a pickup truck after running away from a police roadblock in the city.
In a statement, the Shah Alam District Police Chief ACP Mohd Iqbal bin Ibrahim asserted that the incident took place on 8 March at around 9pm at kilometre 7.3 of the LKSA expressway in Section 14, Shah Alam.
A motorcyclist rode against traffic and made a dangerous U-turn to evade a police roadblock, only to end up being run over by a pickup truck

Mohd Iqbal elaborated that during a police roadblock at the aforementioned time and location, a local male teen riding on a Modenas Kriss suddenly rode against traffic to evade the roadblock.

A policeman on duty at the scene tried to stop the motorcyclist but his order was ignored by the suspect, who continued to go against traffic and dangerously ride across a road divider to perform a U-turn.

However, just as he got to the other side of the road, the motorcyclist was run over and dragged by a Toyota Hilux pickup truck, causing the suspect to fall and suffer injuries.
The motorcyclist was then brought to the Shah Alam Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
