Previously, we reported that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) was tracing two individuals seen in a viral video riding a motorcycle dangerously on the road in Kelantan.
Well, the Kota Bharu District Police has announced that both suspects have been arrested by the 42nd Unit of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division after surrendering themselves at the Kota Bharu District Police headquarters.
In a statement, the police revealed that both suspects, 17-year-old Fakhrul Idham bin Fakarudin and 16-year-old Fahimah bt Ibrahim are husband and wife.
Furthermore, the couple turned themselves in after disappearing for two days and is currently being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
If convicted, the suspects may face imprisonment of up to 5 years and a fine between RM5,000 and RM15,000.
The couple went viral after a video of them riding dangerously on a motorcycle while doing ‘wheelie’ tricks was posted online. The incident is believed to have taken place near Jalan Pasir Puteh in Kampung Peringat in Kelantan’s capital of Kota Bharu.
