We get to experience a lot of things living here in Malaysia but some things that we grew up watching are still just a fantasy – especially if you grew up watching lots and lots of American shows.
Here’s a list of things that we all wish we could’ve experienced while growing up watching so much American media…
1. Being part of a high school clique
You can’t escape the clique nature of the typical American high school – whether it’s the jocks, cheerleaders, punks, goths, geeks, hippies, and more. You know you had one clique you resonated with!
2. Not having to wear school uniforms
Getting to wear whatever you want? Being able to dye your hair?
3. Going on a summer vacation to a lake cabin
With the lush greens and mountains surrounding you… Can a trip be anymore beautiful?
4. Attending summer camp and making smores!
Sure, there’s a slim chance that we’ll meet our long lost twin but summer activities, food fights and telling tales by a campfire? C’MON! Not to mention having those delicious roasted marshmallows and smoreeees!
5. Having your own locker at school
Having a safe space that you can put all your stuff in AND decorate? Yes please! Also secretly hoping that a cute guy or girl will be your locker neighbour, so you maybe try to flirt?
6. Going to prom with the guy/girl you had a crush on for a long time

7. Eating the cafeteria school lunches

8. The thrill of a snow day
Snowball fights. Building your own snow fort. Making snow angels… EVERYTHING! And not having to go to school or work? Woohoo!

9. Experiencing all 4 seasons!
Not just winter but spring…
And autumn too.
Different activities, different celebrations and foods. Mmm, how about that pumpkin spice latte?
10. Having your own tree house to chill at
The one from Codename Kids Next Door would be awesome but for most of us, it’s the excitement of climbing up and that sense of adventure! But there’s also…
11. Building your own club house

Taking a bunch of things and putting it together to create something that’s structurally sound? Why not?
12. Going trick-or-treating
Come on, even till now as an adult, you still wished you can fulfill this part of you. Not to mention putting on costumes and collecting all that candy as you move from door to door!
13. Eating from a Chinese takeout box
Okay, can we just agree that it looks like a lotta fun to do so? Which makes it even more awesome when you order lots of food!
14. Attending an outrageous house party
The opportunity to talk to your crush, have a lot of fun and maybe get into a bit of trouble. Cos there’s no parental supervision! Woot!
