12yo Boy Beaten Up in KL Flat by 3 Adult Men Who Accused Him of Stealing a Power Bank

Due to being accused of stealing a power bank, a 12-year-old boy was injured after having been beaten up by several adults in the food court area of a People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Kuala Lumpur.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus shared that the incident is believed to have stemmed from an allegation that the boy had stolen a power bank belonging to a friend of one of the suspects.

“The victim suffered minor wounds to his forehead and mouth before seeking treatment at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital,”

“Further investigations found that the incident was related to Setapak police report 17850/25, and is being investigated under Section 323 and Section 506 of the Penal Code,” he added.

Additionally, 3 local men, aged between 49 and 61 years old, were arrested at separate locations in Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan to assist in the investigations.

A 20-second video has since circulated on the internet, showcasing the 12-year-old boy covering his face with his hands while being surrounded and interrogated by 3 adult men. One of the men kicked the boy in the face repeatedly.
