A 12-year-old boy was left in a horrific situation when he fell from his bicycle, only to be pierced in the stomach by its pedal in Baling, Kedah, on Friday (26 September) at 5:30 PM.

The Baling Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) took to their Facebook page to showcase how they assisted the boy by separating the pedal from the bicycle so that the boy could be transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Considering the terrifying situation, Baling BBP also urged the public to always stay calm, contact the authorities who are trained in handling emergency situations and not to take matters into their own hands.

“Always increase the safety aspects of yourself and your family members, in any situation and condition. Call 999 for any emergency needs. We are ready to help you. Do not take any risky actions yourself. Get expert help from trained personnel with the available equipment,” they added.
